How do I check out a book or a DVD?

Books or DVDs can be checked out for two weeks either at the Circulation Desk of the Yeary Library, or at the Circulation Desk of the Zaffirini Library.

Accessing Journal Articles

Journal articles can be accessed from the library homepage, which can be found at library.laredo.edu.   Simply find “Databases” on the library homepage and the select the database you need. EbscoHost  is a good database to begin with.

Accessing electronic resource

Off-campus access to electronic resources is limited to currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff. To access an e-book, or database from off-campus you must first login with your Laredo Community College ID and password. Your Laredo Community College ID was assigned to you during your initial enrollment or employment.

When you logon, you will be prompted to login using User ID and Password. Once you login, you will have access to the Off-Campus Access databases.  Use PASPort Credentials.

If you have trouble viewing them, contact the Automation Systems Coordinator at (956) 721-5282.

Library Skills

You can become skilled at using the library by viewing “Library Instructional Tutorials” and by frequently consulting the library webpage (http://lccl.ent.sirsi.net).  For example, click on “Library Resources for Distance Learning Students,” which can be found on the left-hand scroll bar. “Library Instructional Tutorials” will appear on the upper right-hand side of the screen.  There is more than one tutorial to choose from.
