Laredo College Libraries offers a number of services to help support faculty members in their teaching, research, and learning.
Our librarians provide a variety of instructional services designed to help students develop their research and information literacy skills. From online videos and tutorials to library instruction sessions, the library has many ways to support students and instruction.
To schedule library instruction for your class, please fill out the Library Instruction Request Form.
Several workshops are scheduled throughout the semester to further assist our students with their research needs. Topics include Citation Help, Research Help, and Resource Evaluation. Dates and times of these workshops will be displayed on our library homepage and social media platforms.
Faculty may place books and media on reserve at our Circulation Desk by filling out the Instructor Reserve Form. All reserve material must be brought to the Circulation Desk at least 1 business day before announcing or assigning items to students.
The time period for the loan may be set at one day, two hours restricted to library building, two hours overnight, and three days.
The library has laptops available for students to check out. Students must self-identify to the instructor as to not having a laptop/computer. The instructor must submit request to email@example.com with the following information:
(Phone and LC student e-mail)
Internet access at home
Please advise students not to call/e-mail library staff directly. Requests must be submitted by the instructor. Once e-mail is received, a library staff member will contact the student for laptop distribution.
The library has calculators available for students to check out. Due to a limited quantity, calculators are on a first come first serve basis. Instructor request is not needed for calculator checkouts. The student may request a calculator at the Circulation Desk.
**Please remind students that a current or validated LC ID card is needed for all library services.**
