- Abstract:
Objective: To verify the feasibility, efficacy and safety of uterine laparoscopic suspension using three-stitch technique in symptomatic uterine retroversion. Method: Between April 2001 and May 2006 three laparoscopic uterine suspensions were made in patients of Clínica Las Condes. The ages were 29, 34 and 35 years old; they presented severe dysmenorrhea, collision dyspareunia and/or chronic pelvic pain. Each round ligament was plicated and sutured to the anterior wall of the uterine fundus at the level of the uterine horns. A third suture approximates the uterosacral ligaments behind the cervix. Results: In all cases the surgical technique corrected the uterine position. A follow up of five and four years was completed in the first two patients. Of the three patients two related the complete remission of her symptoms; the other remained with very mild dispareunia (severe before surgery). There were no intra or post-operative complications. Conclusion: This technique is simple, safe and effective in the correction of symptomatic uterine retroversion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
- Abstract:
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
