    • Abstract:
Hysterectomy is the second most frequent surgical procedure performed on women of reproductive age. For this reason every day more gynecologists are interested in performing minimally invasive techniques. In this concept and with the objective to preserve the pelvic floor, we propose that the laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy is a surgical technique that should be utilized much more often, being characterized by markedly lower intra or post-operative complications, shorter operative and recovery room time and overall reduction in hospital stay. In patients who do not fulfill the requirements previously for a laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy, the vaginal via is the best alternative. Even more, we think that McCall technique must accompany laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy always in order to prevent future vaginal cuff prolapses; in addition, uretheral indemnity must be checked with an intraoperative cystoscopy with indigo carmin. • Abstract:
