      The article discusses charges that tort lawyer Jackie Scruggs was involved in bribery. The article discusses Scruggs' contributions to the University of Mississippi, his successful litigation against tobacco and asbestos companies and his incorporation of politics into litigation. Federal authorities filed charges against Scruggs after attorneys Timothy Balducci and Joey Langton claimed that Scruggs had been involved in the bribing of judges.
