  A literary criticism of the play “La verdad sospechosa" by Juan Ruiz de Alarcón is presented. It offers an analysis of the character of don García, focusing on his characteristic of liar. Topics addressed include the staging of this play by Spanish director Pilar Miró in 1991, the acting work of Spanish actor Carlos Hipólito as don García, and the scenography of Miró's theatrical production.
