- Abstract:
The article discusses the eighth amendment case for gradual abolition of the death penalty. Topics discussed include the history of the prospective-only death penalty repeal, New Mexico's legislature passed House Bill 285, which repealed the death penalty and death penalty trials that arose out of a brutal home invasion and triple murder in Cheshire, Connecticut and the legality of prospective-only repeal. It also discusses the decisions of Connecticut Supreme Court in this case.
