The article discusses why teleconferencing can be a poor substitute for business meetings. Molecular biologist John Medina says that teleconferencing fails to convey information gleaned from eye contact, smell, and changes in air pressure. Psychology professor David Pizarro has shown that people who meet in-person are better able to predict each other's behavior.
