    • Abstract:
An article is presented which reevaluates the Platonic heritage of playwright Pedro Calderón de la Barca in his comedy play "La vida es sueño" in Spain. It examines the comedy play in terms of its interrelations of philosophy, ethics, and aesthetics. The author also argues that the play conducts a subtle investigation into the relation between tragedy and philosophical and ethical implications of the tragic worldview.
