    • Alternate Title:
Dysfunctional uterine hemorrhage: a practical approach in adolescents.
    • Abstract:
The article discusses dysfunctional uterine hemorrhage in adolescents. This particular type of hemorrhage is an excess and prolonged period of menstrual bleeding covering a series of menstrual cycles. Several causes are given, including excessively high endometrial levels, and is shown to be the number two cause of gynecological visits. OB/GYNs should quickly assess several factors that could be contributing to the condition, the severity of the bleeding, and the optimal treatment to be offered to the patient. The paper is an update on past research on this topic.
