    • Abstract:
The article examines the scientific arts of theater in relation to comedia. The bio-culturally based metaphor called the world-stage or world-theater is also explored. It analyzes the arts and sciences of the theatrical self in the play "Lo fingido verdadero," by Félix Lope de Vega Carpio and in the treatise "L'idea del theatro," by Giulio Camillo. Also noted is the depiction of a mutually embodied self and universe in the memory theater of Camillo.
